TUI TRAVEL APP LANDING PAGE
CHALLENGE

Design a responsive one-page landing site for the German version of TUI’s travel app. The page design for the UK app was a bit sterile and TUI challenged us to push the line and further their brand through the design.

PROCESS

I did a thorough study of the app, the TUI-brand and the TUI-traveler. I looked at web trends in one-page site design, both outside of and within the travel industry. Formulating the concept for the final site came through processing the research and through visual explorations like mood-boards and quick brainstorms.

SOLUTION

The “Countdown to Your Holiday” page of the app became the central focus of the design. Typical vacation imagery shows other people in fabulous places, for this page, imagery tended more toward open space that the viewer could imagine themselves in. The parallax scrolling effect was used threefold in the desktop view; to activate the countdown, to introduce a feature of the app, and to introduce one of the 7-TUI Vacation types.
