Create and design an app with a sustainable business model.

PROCESS

The first step was to look at the existing app market and try to find a niche that hasn't yet been taped in to. There are many apps meant to foster creativity, but few of them allow the user to actually create anything. This app allows the user to easily design a character and order trading cards, t-shirts and mugs.

Research into existing app technologies, a business model, wireframes, and user testing resulted in the final design.

SOLUTION

I created an app with an easy to navigate interface, geared towards young children, young adults and catering to the DIY trend. Profits are made when users purchase their designs. Trading cards are low cost and come in packs of five to encourage trading. The component systems, savable color palettes and the ability to customize characters with drawing tools and easy to understand layers, allows for an endless number of results.
